I am an interdisciplinary scholar of global literatures, focusing on the literatures and cultures of the African Diaspora. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Columbia University and completed my Master’s degree and Doctorate in Comparative Literature at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
I have conducted research and taught at various institutions of higher education in the United States, The Bahamas, Cuba, and Trinidad and Tobago. Additionally, I worked as a Curator at Penn Center, a National Historic Landmark Site in the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor, and I served as an inaugural Public Scholar with the New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
My academic writing has been published in the journal Religions and in a Routledge anthology. My poetry and prose have been featured in journals including the Decolonial Passage and midnight & indigo.
My forthcoming book, Aminata: Abbey Lincoln’s Song of Faith, will be published by Rutgers University Press on July 14, 2026. I am currently at work on my second book, a novel.
